Microdermabrasion is a deep mechanical exfoliating treatment that removes the surface of the stratum corneum (surface layer of the skin) to reveal the new skin layer, which forces the Stratum Basale or Basel skin layer (bottom layer of the epidermis) to regenerate and renew. Microdermabrasion was originally created by an Italian inventor, Mattioli, who developed micro-crystal dermabrasion around 20 years ago for use by dermatologists and doctors. The treatment has since been modified for use in salons and spas as a beauty treatment due to its beneficial nature.
Unlike dermaplaning, microdermabrasion does not use a blade and therefore does not shave the face. You will not get stubble with this treatment. The treatment itself is much deeper as it is used to reduce scarring, stretchmarks, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles. It also promotes lymphatic drain and gives your client a youthful glow. Due to the negative pressure used, it can also help reduce the buildup of fat cells in the subcutaneous layer and can force the skin to regenerate and renew.
This treatment can cause minor discomfort so is not recommended for people with hyper-sensitive skin. The depth of treatment can be adjusted for different skin types and conditions to be treated. Your client will not leave with a red face and will notice a visible difference both after the treatment and in the days following this service.
Please note that all our course times are flexible as we work to your abilities. Some learners finish earlier but always be prepared to be at the centre for longer.
